We have no idea what is hidden behind this gigantic structure seen above and we highly doubt its the 2009 BMW 7-Series. But July 8th isn’t that far so we’ll have to wait and see.

We’ve gathered some interesting screenshots from the trailer, so if you want to take a shot at what BMW is hiding - let us know in the comments section below.

Slinky History
In the 1940s, Richard James, a US $50-a-week marine engineer stationed at the Cramp shipyards in Philadelphia, observed a torsion spring fall off a table and roll around on the deck (a torsion spring has no compression or tension). He told his wife: “I think there could be a toy in this.” With a US$500 loan, the couple ran tests, experimented with materials, and produced four hundred units of the toy. Betty James did some dictionary searching and came up with the name “Slinky”.
In November 1945, Richard and Betty James, through an arrangement with Gimbels in Philadelphia, were granted permission to set up an inclined plane in the toy department and demonstrate the spring’s battery-less “walking” abilities. The James’ business grew rapidly. In 1948 they built a factory for twenty employees in suburban Philadelphia, and a decade later, headquarters were set up in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, where the factory remained for thirty years. As the company expanded, so did the product line. New Slinky toys, including Slinky Jr. and the Slinky Dog, were developed while non-coiled toys such as building kits were added to the inventory. However, Slinky has remained the core product of James Industries.
Commercials for the Slinky featured the memorable jingle: “It’s Slinky, it’s Slinky, for fun it’s a wonderful toy. It’s Slinky, it’s Slinky, it’s fun for a girl and a boy.”
During the Vietnam War, Slinkys were also used as mobile radio transmitters.
Wikipedia

Both models are fashioned from identical all metal chrome & project a bright green visible laser beam for miles! Offered the original high powered handheld laser, often imitated but still the best, most famous in the world, powerful and reliable because it is factory built for high output and now with even greater power than ever before, plus free shipping anywhere in the world and include full warranty, batteries and a metal flight case.
* In 1904, mountable rims were introduced that allowed drivers to fix their own flats. In 1908, Frank Seiberling invented grooved tires with improved road traction.
* In 1910, B.F. Goodrich Company invented longer life tires by adding carbon to the rubber.
* Goodrich also invented the first synthetic rubber tires in 1937 made of a patented substance called Chemigum.
Pneumatic Tyre (Tire)
John Boyd Dunlop (1840-1921) was a Scottish veterinarian and the recognized inventor of the first practical pneumatic or inflatable tyre/tire. His patent was for a bicycle tire, granted in 1888. However, Robert William Thomson (1822 - 1873) invented the actual first vulcanised rubber pneumatic tire. Thomson patented his pneumatic tire in 1845, his invention worked well but was to costly to catch on. Dunlop’s tire patented in 1888 did, and so he received the most recognition. William Thomson also patented a fountain pen (1849) and a steam traction engine (1867).

Woman Driving Instructors could make the difference
Forty-eight year old Alison, who runs a Sinclair Automatic from her home in Wallington, has been a driving instructor for more than 20 years.
It’s a foul, rainy day when I meet her - hardly the best conditions for going for a spin - and I have no idea what to expect. I have never been in a car with a female instructor before, and friends have told me horror stories about male instructors who yelled at them on a lesson, reducing them to a gibbering wreak behind the wheel. Even I have my licence now, instructors fill me with dread - I hated the experience of learning to drive. But Alison immediately puts me at ease. She’s soft spoken, chatty and friendly, and she doesn’t look as if she’d lose her patience with anyone.
As we take a short drive to her home it’s clear that she loves her job and gets a real buzz from helping people to pass their test. In fact the only thing that seems to annoy Alison is some people’s attitude to learner drivers on the road.
She said:”When I’ve got the L plates on I often find drivers try more to overtake me and are in more of a hurry to get past. Putting pressure on learners only makes them more nervous and slower to get going.”
More women than ever are taking their driving test, with five woman learning to drive for every three men. But female driving instructors are still a rare breed, and in majority of cases learners are taught by a man.
As we chat over a cup of coffee, Alison tells me that this may be due to the stress of the job and the fact that driving instructors often have to work unsociable hours. She said:”It involves a lot of organisation - I’m a single parent with a young son so I try to work as much as I can during the day while he’s at school.”
Alison made the decision to become an instructor simply because she wanted a change. She had always enjoyed driving, and fancied something completely different after 13 years of working in an office. After passing the rigorous tests needed to become an instructor, Alison successfully set up her own driving school, which employed both male and female instructors, before continuing on her own a year ago.
Most of her students are female, although she does have one man on her books.
She said:”I like woman’s company and a lot of female learners prefer to be taught by woman because it often puts them more at ease. All drivers are different, but women tend to be over-cautious, while men are usually more reckless and drive faster. Most men have no problem being taught by a woman, but occasionally they think they know more than I do.”
“I sort that one out by showing them where they’d fail if they took a test.”
Although Alison admits that she’s taught a few Maureens along the way, she says she’s grateful to the star of the BBC TV’s Driving School docu-soap for boosting her business
She said:”I haven’t had anyone quite as bad as Maureen, but it has made some women feel that if she can do it,they can. I teach on a automatic car, and there has been a lot of requests for them, especially since Maureen passed by learning with one.” Alison would like to encourage other woman to take up the challenge and become a driving instructor. She said:”Woman are in demand - they should give it a go.”
Quick Facts:
- Women in Britain spend more than 12 billion pounds a year on cars and have a deciding influence on 80 per cent of all purchases.
- Only 15 per cent of the 30,000 driving instructors on the Driving Standards Agency register are female.
- Twenty-five per cent of company car drivers are female, while 28 per cent of all car company fleet managers are women.
- People wishing to train as driving instructors must have held a full driving licence for four years, have no criminal convictions unless they are spent, and must be able to read a number plate at 90ft.
